We are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place with an incredible view down the "Blue Mountain" or Kittatinny Ridge. On a clear day, you can see for 10 to 20 miles. Today the sun is illuminating the new fallen snow that is hanging heavily on the trees -- the effect is beyond spectacular.

Many years ago, we dreamed of finding an old farm to buy and would spend weekend days driving around the area to find "just the right place". Not that the place would be for sale! One day we drove over a ridge on a dirt road and saw Shadow Mountain Farm and perhaps the most spectacular view in the county. The big old white bar and farmhouse and orchard trees -- it was perfect!

Years later, a friend and colleague actually bought the house next store and when we went to visit for a Superbowl party, we realized that it was the area we had discovered years before. I clearly remember saying "I am going to live next door someday." I was also 8 1/2 months pregnant with our first child.

Well not two months later he called and said the owner was putting the farm on the market the next day. We hustled to contact a real estate agent and went to visit the owner to see the property -- with a six week baby in tow! We fell in love with the place and made an offer. Kate - thanks so much for accepting our offer. That was in 1995 and we are still in awe of the place.
